Stand the cardboard box vertically. Use the safety scissors to cut off one entire side of the box so that it resembles an open phone booth (do not discard panel). Stand inside the box facing the inside. Use the scissors to puncture a hole 4 inches from the top of the panel to the front and 4 inches from the side.
Use the punctured hole to begin cutting out the front window of the booth. Cut a complete square out of the front panel with enough space for the ticket booth attendant to see the recipient and to distribute the ticket (a 3-foot square is recommended).
Cut the first panel from step one in two even pieces. Attach one half over top of the square window straight outward using duct tape to create an awning over the window. Attach the other half flat against the front panel under the window (this will become the sign).
Paint the entire structure one solid color and allow it to dry. Use a different color to paint the cardboard sign under the window with any message desired such as, "Tickets" or "Admission." Allow time for the sign to dry. Use any other paint to design patterns or decorations on the booth, also allowing them ample time to dry.
