Peddie began his career at Oracle, where he worked on the development of the Oracle database. He later joined LinkedIn, where he led the development of the company's real-time data infrastructure. In 2014, he co-founded Confluent with Jay Kreps and Neha Narkhede.
Peddie is a frequent speaker at conferences and events on distributed systems and real-time data processing. He is also an active contributor to the open source community, and has authored several open source projects, including the Kafka Streams API.
Peddie holds a Bachelor of Computer Science degree from the University of Waterloo. He is a member of the IEEE and the ACM.
