Howard Sandroff was born on May 12, 1953, in the Bronx, New York. He graduated from the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School in 1974 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics.
Career in Real Estate:
Sandroff's career in real estate began in 1977 when he joined the prominent New York City real estate firm Cross & Brown Company. He rose through the ranks, eventually becoming president and CEO of the company. During his tenure, Cross & Brown managed and developed millions of square feet of office, retail, and residential properties in New York City, including properties owned by the Fisher Brothers and Morgan Stanley.
In 1989, Sandroff relocated to Los Angeles and established Sand Cos., Inc. The company quickly became one of the most active and successful real estate development firms in the Los Angeles area. Sand Cos., Inc. has developed over 100 residential, commercial, and mixed-use properties throughout the city, including several prominent projects such as the Wilshire Vermont Towers, the Park La Brea residential complex, and the Playa del Rey Town Center.
Hotel Ownership and Management:
In addition to his real estate development work, Howard Sandroff has also ventured into the hotel industry. He owns and manages several luxury hotels in California, including the Malibu West Beach Club, a members-only beachfront club in Malibu, and the Four Seasons Hotel Los Angeles at Beverly Hills, a five-star hotel located on Wilshire Boulevard.
