The Globe Theatre was located on the south bank of the River Thames, in Southwark, just outside the City of London. For many people, the easiest and most convenient way to get to the theatre was to walk. From the City, it was a short walk across London Bridge. From other parts of London, people could walk along the riverbank or take a ferry across.

Another popular way to get to the Globe Theatre was by boat. There were many boatmen who would ferry people across the river for a small fee. This was especially convenient for people who lived on the north bank of the river, such as in Westminster or Chelsea.
