Did shakespeare own the globe theatre?

William Shakespeare was a shareholder in the Globe Theatre but he did not own it. The Globe Theatre was owned by a group of investors called the Lord Chamberlain's Men, of which Shakespeare was a member. The Lord Chamberlain's Men was a theatre company that produced Shakespeare's plays.
