Julliard is a performing arts school located at the Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts in New York City. The school offers a college division, where students may earn a Bachelor of Fine Arts in dance, drama or music; a pre-college division intended for elementary, middle and high school students, which meets on Saturdays from September to May; and an evening division, intended for working adults ages 18 and older. Students must audition for both the college and pre-college divisions, and admission is very competitive.

The New School of General Studies offers Visual and Performing Arts courses for students interested in continuing their education. The New School was established in 1919 and has an exclusively noncredit curriculum for mature students. The campus is located in Greenwich Village. Students seeking courses in the performing arts can take advantage of the New School's noncompetitive acting and movement curriculuum; students are taught by trained instructors currently working in theater, film, and television media and may be eligible for a certificate at the conclusion of the program.

The Tisch School of the Arts is a school within New York University. Students interested in pursuing the performing arts may apply to Tisch to study drama, dance, musical theatre writing or design for stage and film. Tisch's Institute of the Performing Arts offers a four-year Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in drama and a three-year Master of Fine Arts degrees in Acting, Design, and Musical Theatre Writing. Admission to Tisch is highly selective, and potential students must audition to be considered.
