According to Top 10 Series, the School of the Art Institute of Chicago is "one of the largest accredited independent schools of art and design in the country," (see Resources). Students can earn either an undergraduate or graduate degree from this school in Chicago. Before acceptance, students must send SAIC an application, SAT or ACT test scores, an essay, a letter of recommendation and a portfolio. SAIC follows this with a face-to-face interview with the faculty.
