How to Do Plate Spinning
Plate spinning is a form of juggling that dates back about 2,000 years to the Han Dynasty of China. Performances originally involved the spinning of a single plate. Later, performers added more plates and an acrobatic element to their routines. Western plate spinners typically use stationary sticks held by stands to spin multiple plates. They often add comedy to the performance. Spinning plates may be tossed and caught in a variety of ways, passed from one partner to another and spun in a large group of people.
