How to Repair HES F100 Foggers

At nearly $500 it is vital that you receive value for money when you purchase your High End Systems F100 Performance Fog Generator. The manufacturer claims it is a "reliable system...designed to meet the rigorous demands of the nightclub, theatrical and touring industries," but it is entirely possible that things can go wrong with a complex and expensive product -- and you could save yourself a bundle by being able to fix the issues yourself.

Instructions

    • 1

Properly plug in all the cables and check the power source. It is amazing how simply setting up the machine the proper way can eliminate a number of issues. Ensure the F100 is plugged in and the breaker has not tripped -- allow it to rest it if it has, and remove other devices from the same circuit. Also check all the XLR cables are plugged in securely and not damaged. Replace any damaged cables.

    • 2

Thoroughly clean the vent cover. Any blockages or debris on the vents can cause the unit to overheat. If you experience this issue turn the machine off, allow it to cool for a couple of hours and clean the vent with a damp cloth before turning the machine on again.

    • 3

Check the fluid filter in the unit. If the filter is damaged or in poor condition in terms of cleanliness repair the problem by simply unscrewing the old one and replacing it with a new, clean fluid filter.

    • 4

Ensure the heat exchanger is kept clear of blockages by dusting it with a dry cloth so the unit can run properly. Do not use any fluids for this task because they can cause a blockage in the heat exchanger.
