Who is Ariel in Shakespeare?

Ariel is a sprite or magical spirit in William Shakespeare's play "The Tempest." Ariel is a powerful and mischievous being, capable of flying, shapeshifting, and controlling the elements. He is the servant of the sorcerer Prospero, the rightful Duke of Milan, who was overthrown by his brother Antonio and banished to a remote island. Ariel faithfully carries out Prospero's commands, using his magic to create illusions and manipulate events on the island.
