How far apart are the frets on an acoustic guitar?

The distance between the frets on an acoustic guitar is not uniform. The frets are closer together near the nut (the top of the neck) and farther apart near the sound hole. This is because the strings are shorter near the nut and longer near the sound hole, and the frets need to be positioned so that the strings vibrate at the correct pitches.

The standard distance between the first and second frets on an acoustic guitar is 1 inch (25.4 mm). The distance between the second and third frets is 1-1/16 inches (27.0 mm), and the distance between the third and fourth frets is 1-1/8 inches (28.6 mm). The distance between the frets continues to increase by 1/8 inch (3.2 mm) for each successive fret.

Here is a table showing the standard distances between the frets on an acoustic guitar:

| Fret | Distance from Nut (inches) | Distance from Nut (mm) |

|---|---|---|

| 1 | 1 | 25.4 |

| 2 | 2-1/16 | 53.9 |

| 3 | 3-1/8 | 82.6 |

| 4 | 4-1/4 | 107.9 |

| 5 | 5-1/8 | 133.4 |

| 6 | 6 | 152.4 |

| 7 | 6-7/8 | 174.6 |

| 8 | 7-3/4 | 196.9 |

| 9 | 8-5/8 | 219.1 |

| 10 | 9-1/2 | 241.3 |

| 11 | 10-1/4 | 263.5 |

| 12 | 11 | 279.4 |

Please note that these are just the standard distances between the frets. Some guitars may have slightly different fret spacing, depending on the manufacturer and the model of the guitar.
