How do you drain the axle on a grand Cherokee?

To drain the axle on a Grand Cherokee, follow these steps:

1) Park the vehicle on a level surface.

2) Loosen the lug nuts on the wheels of the axle you will be draining. Do not completely remove the lug nuts.

3) Engage the parking brake to prevent the vehicle from moving.

4) Jack up the vehicle until the wheels are off the ground.

5) Place a drain pan underneath the axle to catch the old fluid.

6) Locate the drain plug on the axle. It is usually located on the bottom of the axle housing and has a square head.

7) Place a wrench on the drain plug and turn it counterclockwise to loosen it.

8) Allow the old fluid to drain into the drain pan.

9) Replace the drain plug once all of the old fluid has drained out.

10) Lower the vehicle.

11) Reinstall the lug nuts.

12) Tighten the lug nuts in a star pattern, tightening them in several small increments until they are snug.

13) Repeat steps 4-12 for the other axle.
