What happened to raoul in the phantom of opera?
Raoul de Chagny is a character in Gaston Leroux's 1910 novel The Phantom of the Opera. He is the love interest of Christine Daaé, the novel's protagonist. In the novel, Raoul is a young man who is engaged to Christine. However, Christine is also being pursued by the Phantom, a mysterious masked figure who lives in the Paris Opera House. Raoul is jealous of the Phantom and tries to protect Christine from him. At the end of the novel, Raoul and Christine are reunited and the Phantom is defeated. However, the Phantom is not killed, and he disappears into the underground labyrinth beneath the opera house.
