Opera is a free and open-source Web browser and suite of Internet tools developed and distributed by Opera Software in Norway. It is the fourth most widely used Web browser after Internet Explorer, Firefox and Safari. Opera Mini is the mobile version of its browser software built for use on cell phones, smart phones and PDAs. It is built on the Java ME platform, which means it can run on a variety of different phones, including those supported by AT&T, Vodaphone and T-Mobile.

Turn on your phone and open its default Web browser application.

Navigate to m.opera.com.

Click the link to select a different version of the Opera Mini software.

Select the version of Opera Mini you would like to download. There are currently two versions of Opera Mini 4.2: a regular version and a version for Blackberry smart phones.

Select the signed version of the software you would like to download. Opera usually provides two signed versions: one through VeriSign and one through Thawte.

Download Opera Mini 4.2 and follow the onscreen instructions to install it on your phone.
