The exact time and place of its discovery are unknown. However, it is believed to have been found in the Golconda mines of Andhra Pradesh, India.
It is important to note that the Heera Panna, as we know it today, no longer exists. It was cut and recut multiple times throughout history, resulting in a significant reduction in its original size.
The most famous version of the Heera Panna, weighing around 279.9 carats, was owned by the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan in the 17th century.
After passing through various hands, the diamond was lost sometime in the 19th century, and its current whereabouts remain unknown.
