What happened to oakridge boys band member Ronnie fairchild?

On January 9, 2022, Ronnie Fairchild revealed he was taking a temporary medical leave from The Oak Ridge Boys to battle colon cancer. In addition to colon cancer, Ronnie has also faced kidney issues due to diabetes. On May 26, the group shared an update.

Ronnie is undergoing radiation at Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center in Nashville for 5 consecutive weekdays (Monday-Friday) for 6 weeks as an outpatient," read the statement. "On Tuesday he will also complete an additional 6 treatments of a chemotherapy pill with hopes and expectations for great outcomes!"
