The story of Cinderella has been around for centuries, with the earliest known version dating back to 9th century China. The story we're most familiar with comes from the 1697 French fairy tale by Charles Perrault, "Cendrillon, or The Little Glass Slipper."
Many different versions of the story were told and retold in various cultures before Disney's 1950 animated film, "Cinderella," brought a new and well-loved adaptation to life.
