The famous lullaby "Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star" is actually a variation of an 18th-century French folk song called "Ah! vous dirai-je, maman." The original French lyrics were written by a woman named Jeanne-Marie Leprince de Beaumont, and the melody was composed by Mozart. So while Mozart did not write the lyrics to "Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star," he did compose the melody that the song is based on.
