Tchaikovsky is famous for his musical compositions, which include symphonies, concertos, operas, ballets, and chamber music. He is considered one of the greatest composers in history and is particularly renowned for his melodic, lyrical, and emotional music. Some of his most famous works include the ballets Swan Lake, The Sleeping Beauty, and The Nutcracker; the operas Eugene Onegin and The Queen of Spades; the symphonies No. 4–6 (the "Pathétique"); the concertos for violin, piano, and cello; and the overture 1812.
