In Sophocles' play "Antigone," Ismene does not argue to Creon to spare Antigone's life. Instead, Ismene tries to convince Antigone not to defy Creon's order and bury their brother Polynices. Ismene argues that they should submit to Creon's authority and avoid the consequences of defying him. However, Antigone remains determined to follow her conscience and give Polynices a proper burial, even if it means facing death.
