How did Claudius wanting the throne create jealousy?

Claudius did not create jealousy by wanting the throne. In fact, he was reluctant to take the throne and only did so after being pressured by his ambitious wife, Agrippina the Younger. Agrippina was the mother of Nero, who was Claudius's stepson, and she wanted to secure the throne for her son. She convinced Claudius to adopt Nero and name him as his successor, which angered Claudius's son Britannicus and caused jealousy between the two brothers.
