Synopsis:
The episode opens with a flashback to the night of December 14th, 2007. Team Flash is investigating a bank robbery in progress when a young man named George Logan attempts to stop one of the robbers. Although George is successful in disarming the robber, the robber shoots and kills his wife. The robbers escape and both Team Flash and George are unable to catch them.
In the present day, Barry is still struggling to come to terms with the death of his mother and the disappearance of his father. He is also dealing with the fallout from the events of the previous episode, in which he was revealed to be the Reverse-Flash.
Joe and Cisco begin to investigate the bank robbery from the flashback. They discover that George was a former police officer who was fired for excessive use of force. They also learn that he was the only person who saw the robber's face and that he is now living in a homeless shelter.
Barry, Iris, and Joe visit George at the shelter and question him about the bank robbery. George tells them that he was unable to get a good look at the robber's face and that he has been unable to move on with his life since his wife's death. Barry tries to encourage George to give the police another statement but George refuses.
Cisco and Caitlin discover that the robber from the bank was also responsible for a series of other robberies. They trace the robber's movements to a warehouse near the docks. Barry, Cisco, and Joe go to the warehouse and confront the robber, who turns out to be the same robber from the bank robbery in the flashback.
Barry and the robber engage in a fight. Barry is able to defeat the robber but not before the robber shoots and kills George. Barry is devastated by George's death and he begins to question his abilities as a hero.
Meanwhile, Iris discovers that her father, Joe, is secretly working with the police to investigate meta-humans. Iris is furious with Joe for keeping this from her. Joe explains that he was trying to protect her but Iris is still upset with him.
The episode ends with Barry visiting George's grave. He vows to never give up on his mission to protect the innocent and to bring the Reverse-Flash to justice.
George:
George Logan is a former police officer who was fired for excessive use of force. He is the only person who saw the face of a bank robber who killed his wife. George is a broken man who has been unable to move on with his life since his wife's death. He is eventually killed by the same bank robber.
