During her final confrontation with Bradley, Molly finds herself surrounded by the tormented spirits of the children Bradley has taken, who appear as ghostly apparitions throughout the story. Molly becomes the voice for all of these troubled souls and confronts the spirit possessing Bradley, demanding that it releases them. Bradley, now tormented by her actions and the spirits she's been suppressing, becomes remorseful and willingly sacrifices herself to free the spirits and end her own agony.
As Bradley fades, the malevolent spirit also departs, allowing the trapped souls of the children to find peace. The ending provides closure to Molly and the spirits as they are finally able to move on, leaving the haunting of Molly Hartley behind and bringing a resolution to the tragic events of Blackmoor.
