- Simba's struggle with identity and responsibility. After his father's death, Simba is exiled from his home and must come to terms with his role as the rightful king. He struggles with feelings of guilt and shame, and must learn to embrace his destiny.

- The battle for Pride Rock. Simba and Scar face off in a final battle for control of Pride Rock. Simba is victorious, and reclaims his rightful place as king.
- The defeat of the hyenas. The hyenas are Scar's allies, and they help him in his attempt to take over Pride Rock. Simba and his friends defeat the hyenas, and they are driven away from the kingdom.
