What are two ways King Edward of England is a foil for Macbeth?

1. King Edward is a legitimate ruler, while Macbeth is a usurper. Edward has a right to the throne because he is the son of the previous king, while Macbeth has no such right. He must therefore use violence and deception to seize power, which makes him a less sympathetic character than Edward.

2. King Edward is a good and just ruler, while Macbeth is a tyrannical and cruel ruler. Edward is loved and respected by his people, while Macbeth is feared and hated. This difference in character is shown through their actions. Edward is always concerned with the welfare of his people, while Macbeth is only interested in his own power.
