What elements of drama reveal the traits motivation characters to audience?

Dialogue: The words that characters speak can reveal a great deal about their motivations. What do they talk about? What do they say about themselves and others? How do they react to different situations?

Actions: Characters' actions can also be very revealing. What do they do? How do they interact with others? What risks do they take? How do they handle setbacks?

Reactions: The way that characters react to different events can also shed light on their motivations. How do they react to good news? Bad news? Conflict? Criticism?

Relationships: The relationships that characters have with others can also provide clues to their motivations. What kind of relationships do they have? How do they treat the people in their lives? How do they handle conflict in relationships?

Background: Characters' backgrounds can also be important in understanding their motivations. Where did they come from? What experiences have they had? What shaped their worldview?

Taken together, all of these elements can help to reveal the traits and motivations of characters to the audience.
