How does a soliloquy differ from an aside?

Soliloquy:

- A soliloquy is a lengthy speech given by a character alone on stage, where the character expresses their inner thoughts and feelings to the audience.

- Soliloquies are typically used to reveal a character's innermost thoughts, motivations, and hidden emotions.

- They allow the character to communicate directly with the audience and share their private thoughts without the presence of other characters on stage.

Aside:

- An aside is a brief remark made by a character directly to the audience, which is not meant to be heard by other characters in the scene.

- Asides are typically used to provide commentary or offer additional information to the audience, without affecting the main dialogue of the play.

- They allow the playwright to convey details or insights about the situation or plot, without necessarily influencing the actions or responses of other characters on stage.
