Who killed Sam Cooke?

Sam Cooke was killed by Bertha Franklin on December 11, 1964, at the Hacienda Motel in Los Angeles, California. Franklin was the manager of the motel and claimed that Cooke had assaulted her. She shot him in self-defense.
