- Renting a room or box cost about £2 which equated to about one weeks wages for a skilled artisan.
- First Gentlemen's Room was directly on the stage and often used for the musicians
- The actors would sometime move into this area to provide a more intimate scene in the play
Second Gentlemen's Rooms or Boxes
- Located above the First Gentlemen's Rooms, the second rooms would not have had such a good view of the stage
- The sound quality would also have been reduced
- These were still popular choices and offered comfort from standing in the general yard
Third Gentlemen's Rooms or Boxes
- The lowest priced rooms that were available with a roof over the occupants heads.
- Would likely be filled with people of poorer means and possibly unsavoury characters
- Were further from the stage still and visibility would have been reduced
