Power Up Skit Ideas for Boy Scouts

Power Up skits are skits that allow Boy Scouts to discover certain universal truths about power sources, natural and artificial alike, as well as conservation of power sources. Boy Scouts are given the opportunity to follow a short script that will help provide clarification on the science behind power sources and methods used all over the world to generate power. There is no specific method behind these skits, and while there are sample skits online, you should customize your own skit.
  1. Natural Power Sources

    • Natural power sources are power sources that are harnessed and used to generate power for our homes, companies and machines. Natural power sources include gas, wind, water and electrical currents. Use power up skits to explain one or more of these power sources and how it benefits mankind as well as the planet.

    Artificial Power Sources

    • Artificial power sources are used all across the world to replace natural power sources when they do not work any more, or there is a reason for a power outage. For example, electrical generators that are used during power outages are considered artificial power sources. You can explain to the Boy Scouts through a skit how an artificial power source is made as well as its effects on the planet.

    Power Conservation

    • Power conservation is something that everyone on the planet should know about, and Boy Scouts are a great group to get the information out there as the best way to start a trend is to lead by example. Power expenditure and conservation are what keeps the planet healthy. It is necessary to use power as well as save it. Show the effects of each in a Power Up skit.

Real Life Situation vs Fantasy Situations

    • There are two options for writing a Power Up skit: you can use a real life situation or a fantasy situation to explain the point of the skit. Real life situations describe situations that a person may actually go through in every day life. Fantasy skits include fantasy situations, such as including talking animals, mythical creatures or strange planets, that will never happen in real life but may keep the Boy Scouts interested in the skit.
