Did Matthew go away from his home often why or not anne of green gables.?

In the novel "Anne of Green Gables," Matthew Cuthbert, the farmer who, along with his sister Marilla, adopts Anne Shirley, rarely leaves his home.

Matthew is content with his simple, rural life and doesn't have a desire to travel. He is a devoted farmer who tends to his land with great care and attention. He takes great pride in his farm, and he enjoys the peaceful rhythm of life in Avonlea.

Matthew is also a shy and introverted person. He doesn't enjoy socializing or attending public events, preferring instead to spend his time alone or in the company of his family.

On the rare occasions when Matthew does venture away from home, it is usually for practical reasons, such as attending to business matters in town or visiting a neighbor about farming-related issues. However, these instances are infrequent, and Matthew always looks forward to returning to the comfort and familiarity of his farm.
