What does embraced rhymes mean?

In poetry, embraced rhymes occur when the rhyme is enclosed, or embraced, by lines that do not rhyme. For example:

Line 1: "The cat sat on the mat."

Line 2: "The rat ran up the bat."

Line 3: "The dog chased the hog."

In this example, the rhyme between "mat" and "bat" is embraced by lines 1 and 3, which do not rhyme with each other.
