How to Promote Your Songs

A musician can create a song, but if he wishes to sell his music to the public, promotion is essential. Although word of mouth and making a demo tape are classic tools from promoting your songs, utilizing the Internet affords the musician the opportunity to reach the largest number of people. Making recordings of your songs available on social-networking sites may get your song-writing efforts noticed.

Upload your songs to MySpace. The social networking site has millions of users and caters to teens to early 40s. You will find that musicians from indie to major labels have MySpace profiles to promote their music. Create a profile that can include a bio, photos, videos and one of the most important features, a section to upload up to four MP3 song files.
