Why did willow start singing?

There's no evidence to suggest that the tree species known as willow has the ability to sing. While willow trees can make rustling or crackling sounds when their leaves move in the wind, this is not the same as singing. Singing requires vocal abilities and the production of sound through vocal cords, which trees do not possess.
