Sign up on an online karaoke site. Two options of interest would be MySpace.com karaoke (ksolo.myspace.com) and www.karaokeplay.com. They both offer free membership and are free to use. Once you have registered, stay logged in.

Ensure that you have Flash Player installed in your computer. You can do this by clicking Start>All Programs on your PC. If you have Flash, it will be in the population list of programs. If you do not have Flash Player installed, you can do so by going to the Adobe website: get.adobe.com/flashplayer/.

Plug your computer microphone into the USB port on your computer. This will be found either on the front or the back of your PC.

    • 4

Select a song to sing and click record. You will need to make sure that you are in a quiet area when you record your song, as background noise will be recorded while you sing.

Locate your recording in the list to the left of Flash Player. You can then play your recording. If you still wish to send a copy to Mom, you will need to click Sync on Flash Player to save it to your audio file library. You can then burn it to any CD-R.
