How to Create MIDI Files With a Guitar
When musicians think of MIDI---an acronym for Musical Instrument Digital Interface---they usually think of a keyboard player pounding out MIDI code to a computer. While that's often the case, modern technology now allows electric guitar players to use MIDI to trigger sounds in both hardware and software synthesizers. Further, you don't need to add expensive and unwieldy pickups to your favorite guitar to make MIDI work, since modern interfaces let you just plug it in and play.
