How to Capture Audio on Rhapsody

Rhapsody's streaming music service offers a subscription-based solution for music on demand, but users can only use Rhapsody's proprietary music player. You will have to capture the audio yourself to use a playback device not supported by Rhapsody. This is a fairly simple process that applies to any type of streaming audio you will find on the internet, including YouTube, MySpace Music, Napster, and many similar services.

Things You'll Need

Instructions

    • 1

Open the audio editor and navigate to "Settings" or "Preferences." Look for a tab or field labeled "Input" and set the computer's audio output as the editor's input device. The name of your computer's audio output will vary depending on your system configuration.

Open the Rhapsody player and cue the song you wish to record.

    • 3

Press "Play" on the Rhapsody player.. Check the input level meter in the audio editor to see if both left and right channels are bouncing. If they are, the audio editor is receiving a signal and you are ready to record. Press "Stop" when you've confirmed you have a signal.

Press "Record" in the audio editor, then press "Play" in the Rhapsody player. Let the song play through, then press "Stop" on the audio editor.

Use the audio editor to save or export the recording in the audio format (mp3, ogg, wav, etc.) of your choice.
