How to Convert 10K Audio to 600 Ohms
When integrating different types of audio gear, you may need convert from a high-impedance, or unbalanced -- 10K ohm -- audio source to a low-impedance or balanced -- 600 ohm -- audio input. The process requires a line transformer, in the form of a cable adapter or direct box, to impedance-match and balance the audio signal. These transformers also isolate and buffer the signal, preventing unwanted ground loops. You will find these inexpensive adapters and boxes at most electronics and sound retailers.
