Use the free FLAC conversion tool offered on the Online-Convert.com website. This tool can convert more than 50 different audio file formats to FLAC, including WAV, AAC, MP3, AMR and MPEG2. Visit the Online Convert site and select the "Audio Converter" from the menu on the left, then click the "Convert to FLAC" link.
Select an audio file from the hard drive, or enter a URL for an online file. Use the optional settings to alter the bitrate, frequency and channels for the converted FLAC file. Use the "Trim Audio" boxes to isolate only a portion of the original file to convert to FLAC, and select the "Normalize" box to apply a basic normalize filter to the converted FLAC file.
Click the "Convert File" button to begin converting the audio to FLAC. After the file has finished converting, use the download link to download the FLAC file.
Use FreeRip to convert WAV, MP3, WMA and OGG files to FLAC. Download and install the program from the FreeRip website, then run the program.
Select the "View" menu, and then click "Converter" to switch to the program's conversion mode. Drag audio files from the hard drive, and drop them into the FreeRip program window to add them to the conversion list.
Select the "Rip" menu, and click "Convert Selected Tracks to FLAC" to begin converting the selected audio files to FLAC.
Use Audio Transcoder to convert AAC, AC3, AIFF, APE, M4A, M4B, MAC, MP2, MP3, MP4, WAV, WMA and OGG to FLAC. This program can also rip tracks directly from an audio CD and store them in the FLAC format.
Download the program from the Audio Transcoder website. Install and run the program. Select the "Audio Converter" tab, and use the program's explorer window to locate the audio files from the hard drive. Drag the audio files into the program's right-hand window to add them to the list of files to be converted to FLAC.
Insert an audio CD into the computer's CD-ROM or DVD-ROM drive, and select the drive from the "Device" box to see a list of tracks on the CD. Click the check mark box next to each track to add it to the list of files to convert to FLAC.
Use the menu at the bottom of the program to set an output folder for the converted files. Select "FLAC" as the output file format, then click the "Convert" button to convert the selected files to FLAC.
