List of Music Studios in the Maryland Area

Thanks to its many cities, Maryland is home to a number of quality recording studios located all over the state. There are small companies, large studios and even those that provide instruments. From studios that offer their own musicians to those that offer video services as well, a vast number of options are available; so you will first need to decide what is right for you.
  1. Mobtown Studios

    • Mobtown Studios (mobtownstudios.com) is located in Baltimore and offers in-studio recording, mixing, mastering (fine tuning productions), jingle writing, voice over, and remote recording. The company has many unique guitars, drums and even an organ on site. Mobtown charges by the project rather than by the hour, which is a useful service for those on a strict budget. Instead of musicians trying to beat the clock, the cost is decided beforehand.

    Blue Room Productions

    • Blue Room Productions (blueroommusicstudio.com) in Bethesda specializes in studio recording, mastering, sound for live events, hi-definition videography, and still photography for film and digital. The studio provides award-winning equipment, used by professional artists, and can even offer remote recording, meaning they can come to a place of your choosing to record. At the time of publication, their rates were $65 an hour, but Blue Room is willing to discuss flat rates as well.

    Blue House Productions

    • Blue House Productions (bluehouseproductions.com) in Silver Spring focuses on jazz, folk, gospel, a capella, classical, pop, and rock music recordings. The studio has been in business since the mid-1980s and relies on state-of-the-art equipment, including in-studio instruments. Blue House has multiple studios within their facilities, but does not list pricing. The company also offers video services, graphics, CD duplication and remote recording.

    Omega Studios

    • Omega Studios (omegastudios.com) in Rockville has four studios, each with a specific function, which can cover any audio recording need. Whether you are transferring audio to digital or require a studio for vocals, the studio can cater to your requirements. All four studios can be connected for large scale productions. Omega also offers in-house instruments, but rates were not listed at the time of publication.

    KMH Recording

    • KMH Recording Studios (kmhrecording.com) in Lusby is owned by Keith Harancher, the studio engineer, who has been in the music business since 1987. Proud of its comfortable atmosphere and state-of-the-art equipment, the studio also provides vintage guitars and other instruments for in-studio use.
