How to Make a Freestyle Mix Tape

Making a freestyle mixtape is a lot easier than you think. While most freestyle mixtapes consist mainly of rap vocals, you can also make a singing freestyle mixtape. The word "freestyle mixtape" refers to lyrics that haven't been written down or recited over a variety of beats. You can have a professional music producer create your mixtape for you, but there are also many options for creating one for yourself.

Instructions

    • 1

Purchase a music creation program. Plug a microphone into the "microphone" slot on your computer and headphones into the "headphone" slot. Install the software and follow the instructions to create a music track. Use your own music beats or import instrumentals into the software.

    • 2

Rap or sing over the selected beat. Create from seven to 15 songs and save the files to a folder on your computer. Convert the files into MP3 format, if not already saved as a MP3 file. Look for free conversion software online if the music program isn't supplied with that function.

    • 3

Place all of the MP3 converted files into a separate folder. Drag and drop the selected MP3 converted files onto the Windows Media Player. Arrange the songs in the order that you want them. Place a blank CD into the CD burning drive.

    • 4

Burn the CD to disc by pressing the "Burn" icon at the top of the window and "Start Burn" on the next page. Make sure that all of the selected songs have a "check" mark next to them. Wait for the CD to finish burning before ejecting the disc from the drive, if not automatically ejected.
