Open the software and wait for the main interface to load. Locate the "Step Sequencer" icon at the top of the screen and click the "Sampler" plugin. Older versions of the software will not have the "Step Sequencer," but only the "Sampler" option.
Set the amount of desired measures, such as "8" or "16," by using the scroll arrow. The channel preset window will open and drop down. Click the "View" option at the top of the screen and click the "Channel Presets" tab. Select the plugin you want to use for the desired channel.
Create a new track by clicking the "File" option at the top and selecting "New Track." Select a "kick" or "drum" loop from the "Pattern" tab on the left side of the screen and drag it to the first track. Press the "Play" button to hear the selected sample.
Drag another sample such as "snare" or "keys" to track 2. Arrange the samples to the desired location. Place additional samples on tracks 3 and below, only use one instrument per track.
Highlight and select all of the samples and right-click to select the "Clone" option. The beat will paste after the end of the beat. Press the "Play" button to preview the beat. Save the beat by clicking "File" and "Save" from the top menu.
