How to Record Drums in Kristal

Kristal Audio Engine provides users with a digital sound mixer and multitrack interface to create, edit and mix audio. If you are attempting to record drums or other instruments in Kristal, it can be a confusing process to learn. Among the complexities is the use of microphones; drums can be recorded with microphones in a variety of ways. Proper microphone placement and software configuration must all be set before recording.

      Plug the microphone into the "Microphone" slot on the back of your computer. Place the microphone on a mic stand or similar sturdy surface. Move the drums between 12 to 15 inches from the microphone.

      Open the software. Click the "Audio Input" tab at the top of the screen. Select the "Kristal Wave" option from the side menu. Select the desired audio output from the drop-down menu.

      Press the "Record" button in the "Waver" window to arm the recording. Press the "Monitor" button, which is indicated by a speaker to the left of the waver window. Play the selected notes on the drums. Listen for any audio coming from the speakers.

      Press the "Record" button and play the selected notes on the drums. Click the "Stop" button on the "Transport" bar when you're done recording.
