How to Make a Single Audio Track Into Multiple in Pro Tools

When working with an audio track in Pro Tools, you may want to take a single track and turn it into multiple ones. This is easily done with the “duplicate” function -- which creates an exact copy of the original audio track inside of Pro Tools. This function is useful if you’d like to keep the original track exactly how it is, while applying effects and processing to other versions of the track.

     Highlight the audio track you want to turn into multiple tracks inside Pro Tools.

     Click the “Track” menu at the top of the Pro Tools program window.

     Select “Duplicate” and an exact copy of this audio track will appear next to the original inside Pro Tools.

     Repeat this process to create multiple copies of your audio track.
