Open a Web browser on your computer. Navigate to the Gmail website at Gmail.com. Login to your Gmail account with your username and password.
Identify the "Chat" section of Gmail on the left side of the window. Click an individual listed as "Online." Individuals online have small green dot next their name. Begin a conversation with the individual on Gmail chat. Tell the person you are looking to record the Gmail chat beep noise. Ask them if they can type a message when prompted by you.
Open a basic recording program on your computer. Make sure the microphone has been connected to the program. Click the red recording button in the program. Type a message to your chatting partner asking them to type something to you. Remain silent until you hear the Google Chat beeping noise from your partner's reply message. Click the stop button on the recording program.
Click the "File" button in the recording program and choose "Save As." Choose ".WAV" as the file format for the recording. Click the "Save" button. The beeping recording has now been saved as a .WAV file. This file can be imported into almost any recording project because the .WAV format is one of the most commonly used audio formats. Importing the file allows you to insert the beeping noise into songs you're currently recording.
