Portage, Wisconsin Radio Stations

Located about 33 miles north of Madison, Wisconsin, the town of Portage is home to just under 10,000 people. Although the town lies in the broadcast zone for several Madison area radio stations, there are at least three stations broadcasting from Portage itself, as well as stations in the neighboring communities.

    • WBKY 95.9 FM broadcasts in a country hits format, including artists such as Taylor Swift, Montgomery Gentry and Rascal Flatts, as of 2010.     • Thunder Country 100.1 FM also broadcasts a country format. As of 2010, this station in Portage features artists such as Kenny Cheney and Martina McBride. Listeners can receive programming through the traditional FM signal (no Internet streaming, currently) and can further interact with the station through its VIP loyalty club, the station website and a blog.
