KSJB is at 600 AM, with fairly good coverage across the county. This station is based in Jamestown, North Dakota. Its sister station on the FM dial plays adult contemporary music. KSJB also carries the popular "Saylor's Polka Place"–a two-hour program that has been airing on Sunday afternoons since 1992. KSJB also carries farm news from the Red River Farm Network.
KPRM is at 870 AM. This classic country station is based out of Park Rapids, Minnesota, east of Clay County. KPRM focuses on country music and local sports and news. It also broadcasts national news from CBS and talk radio with Rush Limbaugh. KPRM is part of the KK radio network–a family of stations run by Ed and Carol De La Hunt. All of the network stations carry the locally popular weekday morning show "Coffeetime" at 9:30, with Ed De La Hunt as host.
KRCQ “Real Country” is at 102.3 FM and is based out of Detroit Lakes, Minnesota, also east of Clay County. This is a combination station, including a mix of contemporary and classic country music. KRCQ is one of several stations of a variety of formats owned by Leighton Broadcasting. According to a DL-Online article, ownership transfer of the station in 2009, then again in 2010, caused a community uproar as general manager Bob Spilman was forced out at the station.
Most country stations will play some classic country even if they focus on the newer material.
