How to Make a Buzzing Sound on Trumpet

The trumpet is an instrument found in the brass-winds category alongside the tuba, French horn and trombone. Brass instruments are so-named for the material of their construction. Brass instruments are also named for their mouthpieces, which are often silver-plated brass. On some orchestral and jazz works, a rapid, buzzing sound may be required. This sound can be used to indicate an insect, an animal or a flutter. One of the most popular works that features a buzzing sound is the Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov work, "Flight of the Bumblebee."
