How to Get Music on Tumblr Without Changing the Theme

Adding music to your Tumblr account is easy with the built-in tools provided by Tumblr. If you know the URL of an audio file already online, you can stream an audio file already on the Internet or you can upload your own audio file. Adding music to your Tumblr account will help personalize your page and allow your followers to listen to music you have created yourself, or listen to some of your favorite songs. Using the interface built-in to Tumblr, you can access your dashboard and add audio, video, text and images.

     Visit your Tumblr account and access your dashboard. The dashboard allows you to post audio, text and videos to your page.

     Look for the purple audio icon that looks like an image of a small audio equalizer.

     Choose the music file you would like to post from your computer by selecting the "Choose File" option in the dialog box.

     Add a description to the audio if you want text to appear below the music file.

     Select the "Create Post" button to post the audio to your Tumblr account.
