CDs quickly gained popularity and became the dominant format for music distribution in the 1990s and early 2000s.
With the rise of digital music and the introduction of MP3 players and other portable audio devices, the use of tapes and CDs gradually declined. Today, streaming music services and digital music files have largely replaced physical formats like tapes and CDs.
